inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Vice Minister of Home Affairs Bima Arya Sugiarto asked all local leaders to check the smoothness of food production and distribution, especially during the holy month of Ramadan until Eid al-Fitr 1446 H.
“We instruct all local leaders to take the necessary steps in ensuring the production and distribution of the food,” says Bima on Tuesday (2/18/2025).
He states that it is important as his party has received information of price increase on cayenne pepper, cooking oil and granulated sugar.
To that end, it is necessary to ensure the smooth production and distribution of food throughout Indonesia during the period, with a focus on commodities that often experience price fluctuations.
Bima says that according to the report from the local governments, the price of cayenne pepper, cooking oil, and sugar is increasing in several cities.
For that reason, the Ministry of Home Affairs instructed all regional heads to further examine food distribution and ensure that there are no obstacles in the movement of goods to the market.
In addition, regional governments are also asked to conduct market operations to stabilize the prices of basic necessities, especially in areas experiencing significant price increases.
“In our meeting with the Agricultural Minister Andi Amran, we have agreed that we will conduct a coordination with Trade Offices throughout Indonesia," said Bima
Market operations will be carried out in areas experiencing price spikes, involving predetermined commodities and market points that have been identified based on the latest reports.
