inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Police arrested a man with the initials RS, also known as B, in connection with the alleged theft of goods from a SAP Express Courier box truck at the Cilincing Rusun Bridge in North Jakarta. The incident went viral on social media.

North Jakarta Sub-regional Metro Police Chief, Senior Superintendent Erick Frendriz, stated that the incident occurred on Tuesday (5/12/2026) at around 9:00 PM. At the time of the theft, a box truck was passing by the location and was stuck in traffic.

"This case uncovering stemmed from a video that went viral on social media. After receiving the information, the police immediately inspected the scene and followed up on the alleged theft," explained Erick in his statement on Monday (5/18/2026).

Erick stated that the Cilincing Sector Police Criminal Investigation Team then inspected the scene on Thursday (May 14, 2026) at around 2:50 AM. Police also searched for witnesses and victims and secured evidence.

Based on the investigation, one suspect, identified as RS, alias B, was arrested. The suspect, along with evidence, was then taken to the Cilincing Sector Police HQ for further questioning.

"For now, one suspected perpetrator has been detained. We are still investigating to find the other suspect and explore other possible evidence," he said.

Erick urged the public to immediately report any crimes they have seen or are aware of in their neighborhoods.

"The public should not hesitate to report. We will follow up on every piece of information and report. If they need police assistance, they can also contact the Police Hotline Service at 110 or the nearest police station," he said.
