Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta.  The Jakarta Metro Jaya Regional Police arrested 351 people during a protest near the House of Representatives (DPR) complex on Monday night. 

Authorities said the group included 155 adults and 196 minors under the age of 18.

“They were massively involved in damaging public facilities, throwing objects at motorists on the toll road which endangered road users, and attacking officers,” Metro Jaya Police Head of Public Relations Senior Superintendent Ade Ary told reporters on Tuesday (26/8/2025).

He clarified that those detained were not part of the initial demonstrators who had gathered to exercise their right to free expression, but rather outsiders who acted destructively. 

Police had issued warnings before proceeding with mass arrests, he said.

Metro Jaya Police Deputy Director for General Crimes Superintendent Putu Kholis, said investigations are ongoing, particularly into the roles of the 155 adults. 

Four police reports have been filed, including three on collective violence against persons and one involving damage to vehicles.
