Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Jakarta Metro Jaya Regional Police Directorate of Narcotics Investigation uncovered an international clandestine laboratory producing etomidate, a Group II narcotic, in Tangerang and North Jakarta on Sunday..

Police arrested a Chinese man acting as the manufacturer and distributor. During the raids at the Tokyo Riverside and Gold Coast apartments, officers seized 350 ready-to-use etomidate vape cartridges and 2.8 kilograms of raw materials imported from Vietnam, capable of producing 14,000 additional cartridges, as reported by antaranews.com.

"The suspect operated for approximately one month, distributing around 15,000 cartridges across Jakarta using a drop point system and social media," said Narcotics Investigation Director Senior Superintendent Ahmad David on Friday (14/8/2026).

He noted that the illicit laboratory was disguised within regular residential apartment units. The suspect and all confiscated evidence are currently secured at the Jakarta Police Headquarters for further investigation and legal proceedings.
