Metro Jaya Regional Police Issued Circular, Prohibiting Convoys and Fireworks

inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Metro Jaya Regional Police issued a circular on the Prohibition of Community Activities During the Month of Ramadan 1146 H/2025. The circular was issued with the number Mak/0/IIII/2025 and signed by the Chief of Metro Jaya Regional Police, Inspector General Karyoto on March 5, 2025.

"In an effort to maintain public security and order in our jurisdiction area during the month of Ramadan, the Chief of Metro Jaya Regional Police has issued a circular," said the Head of Metro Jaya Regional Police Public Relations, Senior Superintendent Ade Ary Syam Indradi on Thursday (3/6/2025).

He explained that in the circular there are several prohibited community activities, starting from the prohibition of vehicle convoys as regulated in Article 134 letter g of Law Number 22 of 2009 concerning Traffic and Road Transportation.

The public is also prohibited from lighting firecrackers or fireworks as regulated in the 1932 Fireworks Law. The third is the prohibition of crowding or gathering before the moment of breaking the fast and sahur which has the potential to disrupt security and order, such as illegal racing and brawls.

"Illegal racing as regulated in Article 115 and Article 297 of Law Number 22 of 2009 concerning Traffic and Road Transportation and brawls as regulated in Articles 170, 351, 355, 358 of the Criminal Code which are forms of crime and Article 489 of the Criminal Code which is a form of violation," he explained.

Ade added, if there are people found violating the law, police action will be taken in accordance with applicable provisions such as Article 212 of the Criminal Code, Article 216 paragraph (1) of the Criminal Code and Article 218 of the Criminal Code.
