Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Budi Arie Setiadi, the former Minister of Communication and Information and now Minister of Cooperatives, was questioned by the Indonesian National Police (INP) Criminal Investigation Agency regarding an online gambling case.
According to the Jakarta Metro Jaya Regional Police, Minister Budi Arie was asked 18 questions during the questioning.
"The investigators asked 18 questions during the questioning," said Metro Jaya Police's Head of Public Relations, Senior Superintendent Ade Ary Syam Indradi, on Thursday (19/12/2024).
Minister Budi Arie arrived at the INP Criminal Investigation Agency’s building at 10.50 am, and the questioning began at 11.10 am and lasted until 5.13 pm.
The investigation is focused on a corruption case, specifically the alleged provision of gifts or promises to officials in the Ministry of Communication and Informatics around 2023.
“Yes, I provided testimony as a witness. So stop spreading false accusations and framing the situation, as it will backfire on them,” Minister Budi Arie said, as quoted by antaranews.com
The investigation is centered around bribery and gratification cases involving the Ministry officials between 2022 and 2024, as part of a broader investigation into online gambling activities.
