Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal, and Security Affairs Hadi Tjahjanto has instructed relevant agencies to strengthen the cybersecurity of the General Elections Commission (KPU) websites, particularly those related to the 2024 Regional Elections results.
“All stakeholders have been brought together to safeguard the digital space from disruptions,” he said during a seminar hosted by the National Resilience Institute (Lemhannas) in Jakarta on Wednesday (2/10/2024)/.
Minister Hadi entrusted the National Cyber and Encryption Agency (BSSN) and the Ministry of Communication and Informatics (Kominfo) with the task of maintaining a secure and democratic digital environment.
He emphasized that misinformation and polarization are the main threats in the lead-up to the elections.
“We have engaged media outlets to prevent misinformation from damaging national unity,” he added, as quoted by antaranews.com.
The government has also established a coordination desk with 19 ministries and agencies to address potential issues during the 2024 Regional Elections.
