Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Minister of Religious Affairs Nasaruddin Umar has called on the public to create a joyful and peaceful Ramadan, emphasizing the importance of spreading positivity throughout the holy month, which falls in March.
"Let’s welcome Ramadan with open hearts and happiness. This is a sacred month that we always anticipate. It is our collective duty to make Ramadan a time of joy and serenity for the entire nation," he said on Thursday (27/2/2025), as quoted by antaranews.com.
The Ministry has introduced the "Joyful and Peaceful Ramadan" initiative, featuring four key themes: Ramadan Mengaji (Islamic learning), Ramadan Peduli Lingkungan (environmental awareness), Ramadan Berbagi (charity and social solidarity), and Ramadan Inklusi (inclusive community engagement).
Programs include distributing food aid, environmental clean-up campaigns, interfaith iftar gatherings, and inclusive Quran recitations involving visually impaired Muslims.
The ministry has also partnered with scholars from Al-Azhar University to enhance religious education across Indonesia.
