inp.polri.go.id - Sumedang. Minister of Home Affairs Muhammad Tito Karnavian emphasized that State Civil Apparatus (ASN) found involved in online gambling will be subject to sanctions in accordance with applicable regulations.

During a visit to the IPDN Jatinangor Campus in Sumedang, West Java, on Wednesday (7/22/2026), Tito Karnavian stated that any ASN who violates the law must be processed according to applicable mechanisms, with no differential treatment for Civil Servants (PNS) or Government Employees with Work Agreements (PPPK).

"If they violate the law, including gambling, they must be prosecuted. Whether they are PPPK or PNS, they are violators of the law," he said.

He explained that the form of sanctions imposed depends on the severity of the violation. These sanctions can include verbal warnings, written warnings, demotions, career advancement suspensions, and even legal proceedings if the violation constitutes a crime.

According to Tito, this provision applies to all civil servants (ASN), requiring them to be exemplary in obeying the law and maintaining their integrity as public servants.

He emphasized that gambling, including online gambling, carries legal consequences and cannot be tolerated, especially if carried out by state officials.

"The same applies to those who gamble. Not just civil servants, but everyone. Especially civil servants. Gambling, as it is, carries a criminal penalty," he said.

Tito hopes all ASN will maintain discipline and comply with applicable legal provisions to carry out their government duties professionally and maintain public trust in government institutions.
