inp.polri.go.id - Central Lombok. The police's success in managing traffic flow and maintaining security during the 2025 MotoGP Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia event at the Mandalika Circuit was clearly apparent.
During the three days of the international event, the roads leading to the Mandalika area were busy, however smooth, without significant congestion.
The 2025 MotoGP Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia event at the Mandalika Circuit also successfully made new history with the attendance of 140,324 spectators. This figure shows an extraordinary increase of 36.3 percent in the last three years.
The sharpest increase occurred in 2025, an increase of 19,072 people or around 15.7 percent compared to 2024. This surge was even felt in the Paddock and VIP Village areas, which experienced a 36 percent increase in visitors in one year.
The Head of Public Relations of the West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) Regional Police, Senior Superintendent Mohammad Kholid revealed that despite the surge in spectators to tens of thousands of people, conditions on the roads remained under control. This success is inseparable from the precise traffic management strategy and the hard work of the police.
"Even though the number of spectators reached 140,000 and vehicles were crowded into the Mandalika area, the police managed to disburse the flow of vehicles so that the roads smooth without significant congestion," explained Kholid on Sunday (10/4/2025).
The police implemented strict traffic engineering and management at various crucial points. The mobilization of spectators, from the entrance to the parking area, was able to run smoothly.
Proactive and coordinated police action was the main key in ensuring smooth access to the circuit, so that thousands of vehicles could be distributed effectively and not accumulate in one spot. In addition to dissolving congestion, the main focus of the police was also directed at maintaining Public Security and Order during the event.
