Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta.  The Center for Volcanology and Geological Hazard Mitigation (PVMBG) reported that lava flowing from Mount Ili Lewotolok's crater in East Nusa Tenggara has extended 2 kilometers due to heightened volcanic activity. "The lava flow towards the southeast had reached approximately 2 kilometers from the crater rim," Hendra Gunawan, the Head of PVMBG, said in a statement on Tuesday (27/2/2024). On Tuesday at 10 am, PVMBG  has raised Mount Ili Lewotolok's activity status from level II to level III, antaranews. com reported. Residents are advised to avoid activities within a 2-kilometer radius from the volcano's center. Those in Lamawolo, Lamatokan, and Jontona Villages should remain vigilant against potential lava avalanches and hot clouds from the eastern crater. Residents near the mountain and in Jontona and Todonara Villages should refrain from entering or engaging in activities within the southern and southeastern sectors up to 4 kilometers from the activity center, and be cautious of potential hazards from lava avalanches and hot clouds from the crater's southern and southeastern areas.
