Welcoming the XXI National Sports Week (PON) Aceh-Sumut 2024, the North Sumatra Provincial Government is facilitating the holding of a Festival & Bazaar which will take place on 7-15 of September 2024 in the yard of the North Sumatra Provincial Government Multipurpose Building (Disporasu), in the yard of the Jalan Sena Sport Center, and also in Samosir, Medan City.

The largest festival and bazaar at XXI PON 2024 will not only be a place for entertainment, but also a symbol of economic revival through the active participation of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) and regional apparatus organizations (OPD).

It is recorded that more than 100 MSMEs from various regions are ready to sell their products, there are 141 culinary stalls, craft products, and various entertainment.

A total of 20 MSMEs stands will fill the Sport Center yard, and seven in Samosir. In addition, 15 special stands from the districts will also take part, showing the cultural diversity of North Sumatra.

In the technical meeting held on Friday (6/9/2024), the festival committee emphasized the importance of collaboration between all parties, starting from business actors, the government, to Bank Indonesia (BI).

"Business actors who passed the curation reached 40 percent of the total participants. We hope that all booths will maximize the potential of their best products to introduce North Sumatra's MSMEs at the national level," said Desma, a representative of the North Sumatra Cooperative Service.

This event also collaborates with Bank Indonesia to facilitate transactions through a non-cash payment system based on QRIS. Bank Indonesia will facilitate MSMEs in implementing QRIS, with an integration process that takes 2--5 working days. This payment system is believed to speed up transactions and provide added value for business actors and consumers.
