inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Executive Director of the Police Strategic Studies Institute (Lemkapi) Edi Hasibuan appreciated the Indonesian National Police (INP) and the Indonesian National Army (TNI) who were able to secure the visit of the World Catholic Church Leader Pope Francis during his visit to Jakarta on September 3-6, 2024.

“The papal visit of Pope Francis to Jakarta has gone smoothly and conducive. The VVIP security for the visit of the Vatican Head of State was also widely praised by the international community," said Director Edi on Friday (9/6/2024).

In the Pope Francis security operation, Edi saw synergy and coordination between security forces in the field in managing security both at the event location and on the roads passed.

He assessed that the public was happy about the visit of Pope Francis in 2024 after 35 years of no visit to Indonesia.

It is known that to secure Pope Francis' visit, the TNI and INP deployed 9,030 joint personnel. Of that number, 4,300 of them were TNI soldiers, while INP personnel were 4,730 people.
