Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The North Sumatra Regional Police’s Directorate of Narcotics is hunting the main suspect behind the trafficking of 26 kilograms of methamphetamine tied to an international drug syndicate.
“We’re expanding the investigation to trace the full network and identify the key players involved,” said Director of Narcotics Investigation, Senior Superintendent Jean Calvijn Simanjuntak, on Sunday (3/8/2025), as quoted by antaranews.com.
Initial findings revealed the drugs were sent under orders from a suspect identified as HS, an Aceh native currently residing in Thailand. Investigations into his network are ongoing.
The case began with a police raid on 29 July 2025 in Medan Labuhan, where officers arrested four men, identified as RR (32), IS (45), FM (42), and FA. Authorities seized 26kg of meth, 2.4kg of ketamine, nearly 40,000 ecstasy pills, drug-laced vape cartridges, “happy water” containing dipentilon and heroin, and communication tools.
Each suspect had distinct roles, including dealer, courier, property owner and user.
North Sumatra Police urged nightclub and entertainment venue owners to tighten controls against drug abuse.
