Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. A Lion Air passenger on flight JT-308 from Jakarta to Kualanamu was detained at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport on Saturday night after claiming to have a bomb onboard.
"The passenger, identified as H, is currently under investigation by airport police and civil aviation security officers," said Soekarno-Hatta Airport Sub-regional Police Chief Senior Superintendent Ronald Sipayung on Sunday (3/8/2025), as quoted by antaranews.com.
The incident occurred shortly after the aircraft, a Boeing 737-9, had pushed back from the gate with 184 passengers onboard. The man reportedly shouted about a bomb, causing the crew to initiate a return-to-apron procedure and evacuate the aircraft for a security sweep.
Lion Air said that all passengers, baggage, and cargo were re-screened, with no threats found. The flight resumed later that day using a replacement aircraft.
Legal action is being considered against the passenger.
