North Sumatra Police Thwarted the International Drugs Syndicate in Trafficking 308 Kg Drugs

inp.polri.go.id - The Directorate of Narcotics Investigation of the North Sumatra Police managed to thwart the smuggling of 30 kilograms methamphetamine, 10 kg of marijuana, and 1,996 pills of ecstasy. The syndicate is the Malaysia-Aceh-Tanjungbalai-Medan, Malaysia-Tanjungbalai-Pekanbaru and Medan-Jakarta international network, from June to July 7, 2022. "There are six cases and there are 14 suspects," stated the North Sumatra Police Narcotics Investigation Unit Director, Commissioner of Police, Wisnu Adji, at the North Sumatra Police Headquarters, Wednesday (13/07/22). He explained that the suspects hid the drugs in the trunk of the car and under the bed of a hotel room. The suspects will be charged with Article 114 Paragraph (2) Subs Article 112 Paragraph (2) and Article 111 Paragraph (2) in conjunction with Article 132 Paragraph (1) RI Law Number 35 Year 2009 concerning Narcotics The suspects were threatened with capital punishment, or life imprisonment, or a minimum of five years imprisonment and a maximum of twenty years and a minimum fine of Rp1 billion and a maximum of Rp10 billion.
