Tribratanews.polri.go.id – Medan. Directorate of Drugs Investigation of North Sumatra Regional Police successfully thwarted 50 kg amphetamine at the Megawati road, Medan-Binjai, North Sumatra. Police officers successfully arrested two perpetrators. Two perpetrators arrested are Muji (22) and Fahrurozi (22), residents of Peureulak district, East Aceh regency, Aceh province. Directorate of Drugs Investigation of North Sumatra Regional Police received information stating the amphetamine delivery from Aceh to Medan and Jakarta. "The amphetamine would be sent by a vehicle by known characteristics. The team then investigated and monitored the Aceh - Medan border. We spotted the suspected vehicle", Chief of PR Agency of North Sumatra Regional Police, Police Grand Commissioner Hadi Wahyudi, said. From the arrest of Muji, they were instructed by someone initialled "A" (under investigation), in which "A" instructs the suspects to take Toyota Rush filled with amphetamine in Idi region of Aceh to be sent to Medan and Jakarta. "'A' promised Rp200 million fee, but the suspects were merely given Rp5 million as transport fee. When departing from Aceh, they were told to change the phone number. When arrived in at a Medan-Aceh bus depot, they will be provided with the instruction regarding further drugs security", Police Grand Commissioner Hadi Wahyudi said. The Directorate of Drugs Investigation team once waited to ensure someone would contact the perpetrators. However, since there are no calls, M and F, together with evidence, were brought to the Directorate of Drugs Investigation of North Sumatra Regional Police Command Headquarter for further investigation. "The case is being investigated. The team is developing the network and chasing down 'A'", Chief of PR Agency of North Sumatra Regional Police concluded.
