Police Inspector General Tornagogo Sihombing hoped that situation could be maintained until New Year on January 1, 2022. "Let's maintain the safe and peaceful West Papua", the Chief of West Papua Regional Police said. On the same occasion, Chief of PR Agency of West Papua Regional Police, Police Grand Commissioner Adam Erwindi, advises not to light fireworks around the church during the Christmas celebrations. The Chief of the PR Agency also advises the local community to stay healthy in the middle of the Covid-19 pandemic by enforcing Health Protocols such as wearing masks outside and maintaining a safe distance.
