inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian National Police (INP) Traffic Corps is simultaneously conducting Operation Patuh 2026 across Indonesia, starting Monday, October 26, 2026. The operation, which runs until November 8, prioritizes a humanistic and educational approach to raise public awareness of traffic regulations.

The Chief of INP Traffic Corps, Brigadier General Aries Syahbudin, emphasized that the operation's success is not measured by the number of violators ticketed. He urged all ranks to prioritize changing driver behavior through a persuasive approach and traffic safety education.

"This operation must be able to build public legal awareness through independent awareness. We do not measure success by the number of ticketing enforcements," Aries said in a statement, quoted on Monday, October 26, 2026.

Aries explained that this approach must be implemented by all traffic personnel at all levels throughout the operation. This step aims to boost driver compliance through understanding the rules, rather than solely relying on enforcement in the field.

To support this effort, the Traffic Corps will intensify traffic safety outreach in various public spaces. Educational activities target schools, universities, automotive communities, and even public transportation drivers in various regions.

In addition to direct outreach, the police also utilize mass media and social media to expand the reach of safety campaigns. Through these efforts, it is hoped that the public will increasingly understand the importance of obeying regulations and respecting other road users.

Aries reminded that traffic accidents often stem from minor violations that drivers consider trivial. Therefore, personal awareness is a crucial part of building a culture of orderly traffic and reducing the risk of accidents.

"The true indicator of success is a change in people's behavior on the road, becoming more orderly, obeying the rules, and showing mutual respect for other road users for the sake of safety," he said.
