Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Financial Transaction Reports and Analysis Center (PPATK) has revealed that 571,410 recipients of social assistance, locally known as bansos, were involved in online gambling throughout 2024.
These recipients, identified by their National Identification Numbers (NIK), deposited a total of Rp 957 billion into online gambling platforms across 7.5 million transactions.
“If we expand our data, the number could be even higher,” said PPATK Public Relations Coordinator Natsir Kongah on Monday (7/7/2025), as quoted by antaranews.com.
The findings came from cross-referencing 28.4 million NIKs of registered social assistance beneficiaries with 9.7 million NIKs of known online gamblers. This process uncovered 571,410 matches—individuals receiving government aid who are also active in gambling.
In response, the Ministry of Social Affairs has partnered with PPATK to ensure social aid is distributed accurately and only to those who qualify, in line with President Prabowo Subianto’s directive.
As of 1 July 2025, over Rp 20 trillion in social aid has been distributed to millions of beneficiary families
