Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Presidential Palace has called on the National Police to investigate the incident in which a Mobile Brigade (Brimob) tactical vehicle allegedly ran over an online motorcycle taxi driver during clashes in Central Jakarta on Thursday evening (28/8/2025). 

The victim was reported dead upon arrival at a nearby hospital.

“We specifically urge the police to remain patient and carry out security measures with utmost caution. We also request special attention be given to this tragic incident,” said State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi, who is the presidential spokesperson, in a statement to reporters, as quoted by antaranews.com.

The incident occurred as police attempted to disperse protesters near Jalan Penjernihan I, Bendungan Hilir in Central Jakarta 

The Palace expressed regret over the tragedy, with State Secretary Prasetyo apologizing to the public.
