Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta.  State-owned energy company PT Pertamina Patra Niaga has suspended its Pejompongan gas station in Central Jakarta following violent clashes between protesters and police forces on Thursday night (28/8/2025).

“Operations at the Pejompongan fuel station have been suspended for security and safety reasons,” Corporate Secretary Roberth Marchelino Verieza told antaranews.com.

He confirmed that one dispenser was damaged after being hit by a Molotov cocktail, but assured there was no major fire and the damage would be quickly repaired. 

“The station remains safe,” Roberth added, calling on the public to help protect critical energy facilities such as gas stations, calling them vital for maintaining daily activities.

The unrest in Pejompongan was marked by firecrackers, stones, and tear gas exchanged between protesters and police. The chaos escalated after an online motorcycle taxi driver was fatally struck by a Mobile Brigade (Brimob) tactical vehicle, prompting an apology from Indonesian National Police (INP) Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo.
