The incident, which occurred on Friday (19/1/2024), involved an attack on the security post, followed by the burning of civilian homes by an armed criminal group (KKB), resulting in the loss of one security personnel and a civilian, said Chief Fakhiri in Jayapura on Tuesday (23/1/2024) The shooting originated from behind the BPD Papua office in Sugapa, prompting the need for a thorough investigation, antaranwes.com reported. Chief Fakhiri emphasized the importance of obtaining statements from as many witnesses as possible. The information gathered will be analyzed to determine whether the perpetrators are affiliated with groups seeking separation from the Indonesian state ) or are civilians.
