The joint Indonesian Military- Indonesian National Forces (INP) managed to kill four KKB member while countering the Armed Criminal Group (KKB) attack in Intan Jaya Regency on Sunday, (21/1/2024) and another one on Tuesday. The Operation Chief of the Damai Cartenz-2024 Task Force , Senior Superintendent Dr. Faizal Ramadhani, the KKB members were identified as Oni Kobagau, Belau Network, Agustia, and Ones. The Public Relations Head of the Damai Cartenz Task Force, Superintendent Dr. Bayu Suseno, confirmed the latest shooting incident on Tuesday (23/01/2024) at around 9.30 am, when the landing plane with security forces. on board was shot at by the KKB. "It is suspected that the shots came from the direction of the Catholic church of St. Misael, Bilogai," he said. In an effort to retaliate, the security forces from the 330/TD Perimeter Post responded by counterattacking the KKB action. "The results of drone monitoring showed that one KKB member, identified as Melkias Maisani, was killed in the attack, both the body and the firearm used had been taken away by other KKB colleagues," the spokesperson said He emphasized that this incident shows the hard efforts of security forces in responding to KKB attacks that continue to threaten security in Intan Jaya. "The authorities continue to intensify efforts to deal with the security situation in the area, while continuing to monitor developments and provide maximum protection to the local community," Chief Bayu said.
