Inp.polri.go.id - Banda Aceh. Lifter Natasya Beteyob from Papua set new national and the National Sports Week (PON) records in the women's 59 kg weightlifting category at the PON 2024 Aceh-North Sumatra, winning the gold medal on Friday (6/9/2024).

She achieved a clean and jerk lift of 117 kilograms, totaling 214 kilograms, breaking the previous records of 109 kg for clean and jerk and 195 kg overall. Her best snatch lift was 97 kilograms.

The 24-year-old improved her previous PON performance, where she won silver in the 55 kg category at the PON 2021 Papua. Natasya lifted 92 kg, 95 kg, and 97 kg in snatch, and after an initial miss, succeeded with 113 kg and 117 kg in clean and jerk.

West Java's Sarah won silver with a total of 205 kg, and Jambi's Tania Constantia took bronze with 178 kg.
