Inp.polri.go.id – Riau. Police have successfully secured four suspects of wildfires in Riau throughout March. Four suspects are said to have burned seven hectares of land intentionally. Special Criminal Investigation Director of Riau Regional Police, Senior Superintendent Nasriadi says that the wildfires occurred at the two locations which are in Dumai and Rohil. “Following our interrogation to the suspects, they admit they did it intentionally,” said the Director on Sunday (3/24/2024). Furthermore, police found that the four suspects work individually and are not tied to any company. Previously, Riau Regional Police Chief affirmed that his ranks will routinely patrol around the location prone to wildfires. He also asked company parties to also support the patrol. “Remain vigilant and act firmly against these arsons. And I also want to stressed to you to intensify the patrol throughout the area,” stressed the police chief. (ad/fa/pr/nm)
