inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Jakarta Regional Metropolitan Police and the West Jakarta Sub-regional Metropolitan Police have completed the investigation that killed a bakery employee in the Cengkareng area of ​​West Jakarta. 

The alleged perpetrator, identified as RS, was arrested by the police on Monday evening (5/42026).

Jakarta Regional Metropolitan Police Chief of Public Relations, Senior Superintendent Budi Hermanto, stated that the assault occurred on Pedongkelan Belakang street, Kapuk Village, Cengkareng District, West Jakarta, on Monday afternoon at around 1:40 p.m. The victim later died after suffering a wound to the left chest.

"Yes, the suspected perpetrator of the stabbing that resulted in the victim's death in Cengkareng has been apprehended. The perpetrator was arrested by the Jakarta Regional Metropolitan Police's Criminal Investigation Directorate Sub-Directorate team in collaboration with the West Jakarta Sub-regional Metropolitan Police," said Budi Hermanto, Tuesday (5/5/2026).

Based on the initial investigation, he said, the incident began when the victim and the alleged perpetrator were involved in an argument near the scene. The dispute allegedly stemmed from a roadside dispute after the perpetrator's motorcycle nearly hit the victim's motorcycle.

According to him, the argument then escalated into violence. The suspect allegedly attacked the victim with a sickle, causing the victim to fall at the scene.

"The victim suffered a wound to the left chest. After the incident, the perpetrator fled," he said.

The police then conducted a crime scene investigation, interviewed witnesses, and reviewed CCTV footage from the area. Based on the investigation, the team identified and tracked down the alleged perpetrator.

"On the same day, at around 10:00 PM, the alleged perpetrator, RS, was arrested in Bogor. The perpetrator was then taken to police HQ for further questioning," explained Budi.

In uncovering this case, investigators also secured several pieces of evidence, including a Honda Mio motorcycle, a sickle, a helmet, the clothing worn by the perpetrator at the time of the incident, and CCTV footage from the scene.
