Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Police chiefs at all levels, from local offices to regional, have launched social media accounts to respond directly to public complaints, the Indonesian National Police (INP) Public Relations Division Head of Public Information Bureau Brigadier General Trunoyudo Wisnu Andiko announced on Friday (7/2/2025).

“This is part of optimizing communication with the public and allowing citizens to report incidents directly,” he said, as quoted by antaranews.com.

The initiative follows INP Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo’s directive during the 2025 leadership meeting, urging officers to engage with the public on social media to prevent issues from escalating into viral controversies.

Despite this digital approach, Chief Trunoyudo emphasized that traditional complaint channels remain available, including face-to-face reports and the Professional and Security Division or units  for matters related to police conduct.

He said that the move is a response of the law enforcement’s adaptation to technological advancements, ensuring quicker responses to public concerns while maintaining transparency and accountability.
