Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian National Police's (INP) anti-football mafia task force has detained three out of eight suspects involved in a match-fixing case during League 2 football matches in November 2018. The three detainees were Vigit Waluyo (VW), Dewanto Rahadmoyo Nugroho (DRN) and Kartiko Mustikaningtyas (KM), antaranews.com reported. "Investigators decided to detain the three suspects after conducting the investigation," said Senior Superintendent Dani Kustoni, the Deputy Director of Cybercrime at the INP Criminal Investigation Department  on Wednesday (20/12/2023). He  explained that subjective reasons led investigators to detain the three suspects to facilitate the investigation. "The decision is based on making the investigation process more convenient, and investigators have received information about the suspects' possible recurrence of criminal acts that need to be further investigated," Deputy Director Dani said. Prior to their arrest, the three suspects were questioned for three hours at the Cybercrime Division of the INP Criminal Investigation Department. The content of the questioning focused on deepening the cooperation between VW, DRN, KM and GAS, another suspect who is currently on the run. The investigation aimed to gather new information about VW's involvement in alleged match-fixing practices in other matches. In this case, the Anti-Football Mafia Task Force has identified eight suspects consisting of four referees, an assistant club manager, a referee liaison officer and a fugitive courier. Meanwhile, the three suspects who have been arrested, VW as the intellectual actor of the match-fixing, DRN as the assistant club manager and KM as the referee liaison officer. The other four suspects were not detained because the criminal threat was less than five years old. (mg/inp/pr/nm)
