Inp.polri.go.id – Papua. Papua Police Public Relation Chief, Grand Commissioner Ignatius Benny Ady Prabowo explains the law enforcement effort on the assault in Kali I, Mosum II, Yahukimo. The assault allegedly carried out by the Armed Criminal Group of Asbak Koranue, which is part of Egianus Kogoya group. The attack reportedly has killed civilians. “The yesterday attack is true and allegedly carried out by the Armed Criminal Group of Asbak Koranue,” explains Benny on Tuesday (10/16/2023). Benny states that although security officials have faced several gunfights with the criminal group, they are able to recover seven bodies which they able to identify. The seven bodies are Udin, Maun, Ardi, Hendra, Anju, Appe, and Siger. Meanwhile, those who are able to evacuate safely are Abdul (53), Renaldi (28), Hermudin (42), Markus (35), Ahmad (21), and Holden (48). “Papua Police Chief and Cartenz Peace Ops have held a closed meeting to discuss steps in enforcing the law against the perpetrators,” says Benny. Currently, the effort of improving security situation by Indonesian joint security forces has been amplified in Yahukimo to prevent further escalation.
