Inp.polri.go.id – Purwakarta. Police determined the Handoyo bus driver as the prime suspect of the Cipali deadly accident that caused 12 people died. Purwakarta Sub-regional Police Chief, Superintendent Edwar Zulkarnain reveals based on police investigation and open session, police determined Rinto Katana (28) as the suspect. With the status of suspect, the Handoyo bus driver will be temporarily imprisoned in Purwakarta Sub-regional Police HQ. Rinto Katana is the second driver of the Handoyo bus who drove the bus from Kendal, while the first bus driver drove the bus from Yogyakarta to Kendal. Based on the investigation result, the accident occurred when the driver drove at high speed. This conclusion was based on seeing the bus wreck post-accident, the damage on the road block to the gear position in high gear. Police assessed that the bus moved at 40 kilometers per hour at the corner of toll road to the Cikampek toll gate, which is quite famous for its sharp turn for a toll road. In the end, police will charge Rinto Katana with Article 311 paragraphs 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 or 310 paragraphs 4, 3, 2 and 1 of Republic of Indonesia Law No. 22/2009 concerning Road Traffic and Transportation.
