inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian National Police (INP) anti-drone team successfully intercepted a number of illegal drones flown on the first day of the MotoGP race at the Mandalika Circuit, Central Lombok Regency, West Nusa Tenggara.
The Head of INP Anti-Drone Sub-Task Force, First Inspector Muhammad Rizki Fitaloka, said that his team had detected and monitored illegal drones at the Mandalika Circuit.
"We have detected several indications that drones were being flown to take videos. But we have taken action to prevent them from approaching the Mandalika Circuit area," said Rizki on Friday (10/3/2025).
He said that despite finding a number of illegal drones, his team did not take action by shooting them down.
"There is nothing to shoot down. We are looking for the pilots to prevent them from flying drones into the Mandalika Circuit area. That's all," Rizki emphasized.
To secure the Mandalika Circuit area from illegal drones, INP deployed 10 personnel to two different locations: Bukit 360 Post and Bukit Jokowi Post, each consisting of five personnel.
"Security measures began two days ago. We also coordinated with the ITDC Mandalika team, the team from the Ministry of Communication and Digital, and the Dorna drone team as they are the only drone team that are permitted to fly during MotoGP," he said.
