The Commander of the Mobile Brigade Unit of the NTB Regional Police, Senior Superintendent Nadi Chaidir, confirmed in Mataram that the speed of personnel in responding to incidents is crucial in handling land fires.
"Upon receiving information about a hotspot, personnel immediately moved to the location to extinguish and localize the fire to prevent it from spreading," he said Thursday (9/17/2026).
He stated that personnel preparedness in the field is necessary to minimize the impact of land fires. Initial fire response was also directed at preventing the flames from disrupting main traffic access or residential areas around the location.
"Accuracy and preparedness in field response are key to minimizing the impact of land fires," he said.
Personnel then ensured the fire had been completely extinguished before leaving the location. Once conditions were declared safe and under control, all personnel returned to the Detachment Headquarters to continue operational preparedness.
