inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Patrol personnel from Mobile Brigade Unit of the Jakarta Regional Metropolitan Police moved quickly to secure the scene of the fire at the PT Surya Lestari Sinar Makmur factory in the Delta Silicon 2 area, Lippo Cikarang, Bekasi Regency, West Java, early Tuesday (9/8/2026).

The personnel, who had previously been on patrol to prevent brawls and illegal racing, immediately headed to the location after receiving an emergency report from road users near the Wibawa Mukti Sports Hall.

Commander of the Jakarta Regional Metropolitan Police Mobile Brigade Unit, Senior Superintendent Henik Maryanto, stated that the personnel's presence at the location was a police response to public reports and to ensure the situation remained safe during the firefighting process.

"Personnel must always be ready to be present when the public needs police assistance. In every activity, we prioritize humane actions, assisting in the handling process, and ensuring the situation around the location remains safe and under control," said Henik.

Upon arrival at the scene, the Mobile Brigade personnel immediately collaborated with firefighters and members of the South Cikarang Sector Police. The area around the fire extinguishing site was then sterilized to facilitate the firefighting process.

Eight fire engines were deployed to control and extinguish several hotspots still burning around the factory.

Henik stated that personnel were on standby to ensure the firefighting process ran smoothly, including preventing onlookers from approaching dangerous areas.

"Personnel are not only conducting preventative patrols, but also helping maintain security around the incident site so that the firefighting process can proceed safely and the public does not approach dangerous areas," Henik said.

Police personnel remained on guard until early morning. In addition to securing the area, officers ensured that residents did not cross the security line during the firefighting and cooling process.

Head of Public Relations for the Jakarta Metropolitan Police, Senior Commissioner Budi Hermanto, also appealed to residents near the location to stay away from the fire area and always follow the directions of officers on the ground.

"We urge the public to stay away from the fire site, follow the officers' directions, and prioritize safety. If you need police assistance or experience an emergency, immediately call the police service 110," Budi said.
