Investigators from the Directorate of Special Economic Crimes of the Indonesian National Police (INP) Criminal Investigation Agency have named three suspects in a case of alleged embezzlement and fraud involving PT Dana Syariah Indonesia (DSI). The suspects were named after two pieces of preliminary evidence were recovered on Thursday (2/5/2026).
"Police investigators have named three suspects," explained Brigadier General Ade Safri Simanjuntak, Director of Special Economic Crimes, in a statement on Friday (2/6/2026).
Ade stated that the three suspects are TA, the President Director and shareholder of PT DSI; MY, the former Director of PT DSI who also controls PT Mediffa Barokah Internasional and PT Duo Properti Lestari; and ARL, a Commissioner and shareholder of PT DSI.
They are suspected of embezzlement, fraud, false financial reporting, and money laundering related to the distribution of funding based on fictitious projects.
The charges are Article 488 and/or Article 486 and/or Article 492 of Law Number 1 of 2023 concerning the Criminal Code and/or Article 45A Paragraph (1) in conjunction with Article 28 Paragraph (1) of Law Number 1 of 2024 concerning the second amendment to Law Number 11 of 2008 concerning Electronic Information and Transactions and/or Article 299 of Law Number 45 of 2023 concerning the Development and Strengthening of the Financial Sector and Article 607 Paragraph (1) letters a, b, and c of Law Number 1 of 2023 concerning the Criminal Code.
He further explained that this case relates to the management of public funds from 2018 to 2025, which were allegedly disbursed using fictitious existing borrower data.
During the investigation, Ade stated that investigators coordinated with the Financial Transaction Reports and Analysis Center (PPATK) to investigate the flow of funds and financial transactions suspected of being criminal. They also coordinated with the LPSK and submitted data on PT DSI's lenders for victim collection and verification.
"Data on the number of lenders from 2018 to September 2025 shows that 11,151 lenders still had outstanding funds at PT DSI (IDR 2,477,591,248,846), based on the OJK's direct audit report of PT DSI on October 7, 2025," he explained.
