inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian and Jordanian governments have officially collaborated in the field of halal product assurance (JPH) through the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the Halal Product Assurance Agency (BPJPH) and the Jordanian Standards and Metrology Organization (JSMO).
BPJPH Head Ahmad Haikal Hasan stated that this collaboration is a strategic step in strengthening the global halal network, which is essential to solidifying Indonesia's position as a global halal benchmark.
"This collaboration is not just about halal certification recognition, but about building a global halal system that is interconnected, based on mutual trust, and provides tangible benefits for businesses in both countries," explained the Head of BPJPH on Thursday (2/5/2026).
Furthermore, he expressed his hope that the collaboration between Indonesia and Jordan will open broader market access for national halal products while strengthening halal product assurance standards and governance at the international level.
The collaboration between BPJPH and JSMO includes strengthening halal product assurance technology, training and expertise exchange, development of halal facilities and infrastructure, and research and development in the halal sector.
"The two parties also agreed on a mechanism for mutual recognition and acceptance of halal certification results, coordination of the exchange of standards and technical regulations, and recognition of halal certificates issued by each institution," explained the Head of BPJPH.
In addition to strengthening international cooperation, BPJPH is also collaborating with Tadulako University as part of strengthening the national halal ecosystem.
This collaboration covers education, collaborative research, community service, training and human resource development, and the development of a halal product assurance curriculum at the diploma, undergraduate, and postgraduate levels.
"This collaboration is expected to strengthen the capacity of national halal human resources as a foundation for the sustainability of Indonesia's halal ecosystem," he said.
