inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) Regional Police announced that they have deployed 3,227 joint personnel to secure Easter celebrations in several areas of the province.

NTT Regional Police Vice Chief, Brigadier General Baskoro Tri Prabowo, stated that the personnel comprise a combined 1,319 personnel from the police (Polri), 1,908 personnel from the Indonesian Military (TNI), and related agencies.

"Those thousands of personnel will be focused on securing 1,113 churches throughout NTT, including 432 priority churches deemed vulnerable and with larger congregations," Baskoro stated on Tuesday (3/31/2026).

Operation Semana Santa Turangga 2026 will be held for 15 days, from April 1 to 15, 2026. Baskoro explained that during this operation, the NTT Regional Police will establish 85 posts spread across various regions. The posts consist of 38 security posts, 26 service posts, and 21 integrated posts to support smooth security and public services.

All personnel are required to be able to map potential vulnerabilities in the field early on, so that preventative measures can be implemented optimally.

"Conduct a vulnerability mapping in each area, so that any potential disturbances can be anticipated as early as possible. The presence of personnel must provide a sense of security for people attending worship," emphasized Baskoro.

He added that security will focus on two main Easter events: mass in churches and religious processions or parades outside churches, which typically involve large crowds.
