inp.polri.go.id - Bangka Belitung. Police successfully raided an illegal tin mining operation in Beluluk Village, Pangkalan Baru District, Central Bangka Regency, located in a residential area.
The Head of Sub-Directorate IV of the Special Crimes Directorate of the Bangka Belitung Regional Police, Superintendent M. Iqbal Surbakti, stated that several community groups had been operating in the area for the past few years. The mine is also located several meters from residents' homes, which is considered a danger to the surrounding community.
"After receiving reports from the community, we took action," said the Head of Sub-Directorate IV of the Special Crimes Directorate, as reported by beritasatu, Wednesday (7/30/2025).
He explained that during the raid, police recovered several tin mining machines.
"When officers visited the location, they found three TI machines in operation, operated by local residents," he explained.
He further appealed to the public not to mine in unauthorized areas, especially in residential areas.
"Members urged the miners to cease their activities and remove the TI machines," he concluded.
