The Ministry of Foreign Affairs commends the Indonesian National Police (INP), through the Jakarta Metropolitan Regional Police, for uncovering the cause of death of young diplomat Arya Daru Pangayunan (39). The investigation was conducted professionally, involving experts.

"The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expresses its appreciation for the efforts made by the Jakarta Metropolitan Regional Police investigative team and the experts involved during the investigation," the Ministry wrote in an official statement on Thursday (July 31, 2025).

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed its appreciation for the attention and input provided by all parties regarding the death of Arya Daru Pangayunan.

"Since the beginning of the investigation process, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has collaborated and communicated with the family, police investigators, and other relevant parties to uncover this case clearly," the Ministry stated.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs also expresses its condolences for the passing of Arya Daru, who was known as a kind, friendly person to his colleagues, dedicated colleagues, and a nurturing senior. 

His passing has also had an emotional impact on his colleagues and the extended ministry family.

Furthermore, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is guaranteeing support for Arya Daru's family. In fact, Foreign Minister Sugiono even personally expressed his concern.

"The Indonesian Foreign Minister visited the bereaved family's home in Yogyakarta to offer condolences and moral support," the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated.
