inp.polri.go.id - Tasikmalaya. A driver and a passenger driving Mitsubishi Pajero with an Indonesian National Police (INP) license plate equipped with a strobe light and siren went viral on social media after being recorded recklessly driving on the Pasupati Flyover in Bandung City.

The video drew public criticism for being considered a violation of regulations and tarnishing the reputation of INP institutions. However, the results of an investigation by the Tasikmalaya Sub-regional City Police revealed a different fact: the driver and owner of the vehicle were not members of the police. The Tasikmalaya Sub-regional City Police Chief, Superintendent Moch Faruk Rozi, emphasized that both were purely civilians.

"It turns out he is not a police officer, he is a civilian. We have already ordered the license plate, strobe light and siren to be removed," said Faruk, Sunday (19/10/2025).

It is known that the Pajero driver with the initials AR (37) is a resident of Tasikmalaya City who works as a driver. Meanwhile, the owner of the vehicle with the initials I, also comes from Tasikmalaya.

"AR is the driver, the owner of the car has the initials I. They are just civilians of Tasikmalaya, while the incident happened in Bandung. Both of them are not members of the police," explained Faruk.

Currently, AR is still undergoing questioning at the Tasikmalaya City Police Headquarters. He has also made a video of clarification and apology for his actions.

"He has also made a video of apology to the public and the National Police institution, for using a license plate that is not for its intended purpose," said Faruk.
