inp.polri.go.id - Pekanbaru. The Riau Regional Police Drugs Criminal Investigation Directorate has arrested three men, identified as F (21), J (30), and AI (30). They were arrested for distributing methamphetamine and ecstasy in the Pekanbaru area.

The Director of Drugs Criminal Investigation, Senior Superintendent Putu Yudha Prawira, explained that the arrests stemmed from information obtained by the Operational Team of Sub-Directorate I of the Drugs Criminal Investigation Directorate, led by Police Assistant Superintendent Yogie Pramagita, regarding narcotics distribution in the Pekanbaru area.

Based on this information, the Head of the raid unit, Police Senior Inspector Noki Luviko, and his team immediately investigated the location and successfully apprehended suspect F while he was waiting for a buyer in the parking lot of a hotel in Pekanbaru.

"F was arrested in the motorcycle parking lot of a hotel in Pekanbaru on Wednesday (10/15/2025). During a search, three ecstasy pills were found in a cigarette pack in his pants pocket," he said on Sunday (10/19/2025).

After further investigation, it was discovered that F obtained the illicit substances from a man identified as J.

The following day, the team conducted further investigation and successfully arrested suspect J at his home on Jalan Semangka, Binawidya District, Pekanbaru.

"The team then searched J's house and found evidence of 44 ecstasy pills of various brands and seven packages of methamphetamine weighing 79 grams stored in his bedroom closet," he explained.

Furthermore, during J's interrogation, he admitted to obtaining the drugs from someone he knew through AI (30). Officers immediately began an investigation into AI.

"AI was then arrested at a fried rice stall. AI was taken to the Riau Regional Police for further investigation," he explained.

An examination of J's cellphone revealed that the drugs were ordered from someone with the initials A, who is currently still at large.

"For their actions, the suspects are charged under Article 114 paragraphs 1 and 2 in conjunction with Article 112 paragraphs 1 and 2, which carries a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison," he concluded.
