inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Cianjur Sub-regional Police implemented a faster one-way system to Bogor from Puncak-Cianjur on the fourth day after Eid al-Fitr 2026, to anticipate long queues of vehicles, especially on the Puncak route.
Cianjur Sub-regional Police Traffic Chief, Police Senior Inspector Aang Andi Suhandi, stated that on the fourth day after Eid al-Fitr, the volume of traffic along the main Cianjur route from Cianjur to Puncak-Bogor remained high.
Stretched vehicle queues were observed at critical points such as the Pacet-Cipanas Highway, Cipanas Market, the Cibodas and Hanjawar intersections, and Puncak Pass, due to the high number of tourists visiting these tourist destinations.
To anticipate congestion along these routes, officers implemented various measures, including roadblocks and implementing a one-way system when long, stalled queues of vehicles occurred.
"The queues occurred due to the peaked volume of returning travelers, particularly in the Bogor jurisdiction, with the tail of the queue approaching Puncak Pass-Cianjur. Therefore, the one-way system was implemented ahead of schedule," explained Aang on Tuesday (3/24/2026).
This was done to anticipate the long queues that occurred on the third day after Eid al-Fitr, when the tail of the queue reached 18 kilometers, causing the police to temporarily close the route to Puncak from the Gentur-Cianjur Light Monument.
The one-way system is implemented situationally, and when the queues thin out, the lanes will reopen normally in both directions. However, on the fourth day after Eid al-Fitr, the police are urging drivers returning to their hometowns, such as Greater Jakarta and Banten, to use alternative routes.
