inp.polri.go.id - Yogyakarta. The Yogyakarta Regional Police held a legal counseling seminar related to the Indonesian National Police (INP) Chief Regulation Number 8 of 2009 concerning the Implementation of Human Rights Principles and Standards in the Implementation of Duties of INP.
The seminar took place at the Anton Soedjarwo Building of the Yogyakarta Regional Police. Monday (10/6/2025)
The counseling was officially opened by the Yogyakarta Regional Police Chief, Inspector General Anggoro Sukartono.
Anggoro emphasized that human rights are basic rights inherent in every individual as a gift from God Almighty, are natural, cannot be violated, and must be respected and protected in order to maintain human dignity and honor.
He also emphasized that Regulation Number 8 of 2009 is an important guideline in integrating human rights values into the work culture of the police. The guidelines ensure that human rights principles are consistently implemented through a strict oversight mechanism.
"This regulation aims to ensure understanding in police duties, while also encouraging changes in the mindset, attitudes, and actions of every police member to align with human rights principles," said Anggoro.
He also stated that the use of force by the police must be accountable, guided by the principles of legality, necessity, and proportionality.
Every member of the police is expected to be able to carry out their duties professionally, with integrity, and uphold humanitarian values in every action in the field.
