Inp.polri.go.id – Papua. Papua Regional Police identifies the shooter who killed two police members in Blue Baya District, Paniai. Senior Superintendent Ignatius Benny, Papua Regional Police PR Chief, says the shooters are from separatist group who mainly operates in Central Papua. The PR Chief states that all of the Papua Regional Police team, including Damai Cartenz Ops, are hunting down the shooter who were said to be from Aibon Kogoya group. “The ambush was carried out by Aibon Kogoya Armed Criminal Group (KKB),” said Senior Superintendent Benny. “We will hunt the shooters down, the shooter who killed two police members, and hold them accountable for their actions,” continued Benny. Furthermore, Papua Regional Police has instructed Paniai Sub-regional Police Chief, Superintendent Abdus Syukur Felani to continue their chase on the criminals. It was noted by Abdus Syukur that the ambush occurred on Wednesday (3/20/2024) morning. The criminals shot Second Police Brigadier Arnoldobert and Second Police Brigadier Sandi Defrit when they were securing Helipad 99 in Blue Baya District. (ad/ta/pr/nm)
