inp.polri.go.id - Currently, the National Police (Polri) is in the process of establishing a special Departmental Police (Polres) for the Capital City of Nusantara (IKN). “Yes, for the concept of establishing a special Polres for IKN is being proposed,” explained the Head of the Public Relations Division (Kadiv Humas) of Polri, Inspector General Prof. Dr. Dedi Prasetyo, M. Hum., M.Sc., M.M., Sunday (19/6/2022). He stated that, this year Polri is still focusing on proposing and studying the concept of special Polres for IKN. Then, he stated that the new Polres must be prepared in the next year. “Next year, it must be prepared already, because in year 2024 hopefully we can move to the new capital,” he said. The Brigade Mobile (Brimob) Corps will also be placed in the new capital. Later, the Brimob Corps in the new Capital will be led by a high-ranking officer with the rank of brigadier general. “The corps will be led by a one-star-high-ranking officer to secure the strengthening of the new capital so it would be in accordance with the timeline set by the government,” add Kadiv Humas Polri. The new Polres hopefully could be realized in 2023. Meanwhile, the move of the National Police Headquarters to the new capital is planned to happen in 2024. Previously, the Minister for Administrative Reform and Bureaucratic Reform, Tjahjo Kumolo, said around 60,000 state civil servants (ASN), members of the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI), and the Indonesian National Police (Polri) will move to the nation's capital (IKN) Nusantara in 2024. That number of workers who will be moved to the new capital is the first issue that was discussed by the National Planning and Development Agency (Bappenas).
