Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Jakarta Popsivo Polwan opened the 2026 Proliga women’s volleyball season with a convincing 3–0 win over Medan Falcons at GOR Terpadu A Yani, Pontianak, on Thursday night (8/1/2026).
The match ended 25–20, 25–19, 25–14, marking a strong start for last season’s runner-up.
Head coach Darko Dobreskov said the result was encouraging despite limited pre-season matches.
“We are happy with the win, but this team still has room to grow and must stay consistent,” he said after the match, as cited by antaranews.com.
Popsivo Polwan dominated from the opening set with aggressive serves and quick attacks, leaving the Medan Falcons struggling to respond. The momentum remained unchanged through all three sets.
Player Gendis noted that preparation helped the team start strongly, while acknowledging areas for improvement. Medan Falcons coach Marcos Sugiyama admitted his side failed to capitalize on key points, especially late in the first two sets.
