inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Expert Staff for Ideology and Constitution of the Coordinating Ministry for Political, Legal and Security Affairs, Inspector General Andry Wibowo, conveyed several things that police women should do in preventing the crime of human trafficking (TPPO).

According to him, the Directorate of Women and Children’s Crimes (PPA) and Human Trafficking Crimes (PPO) is a great initiative from the Indonesian National Police (INP) Chief, General Listyo Sigit Prabowo. This shows that the Police are at the forefront in mitigating all cases of human trafficking.

"The initiative should continue to be developed, of course. We hope that the directorate would be enhanced for the better," he said during his remarks in the Police Woman Anniversary discussion on Thursday (10/3/2024).

He added that the right human resources with qualified competencies must also fill the new directorate. For policewomen, he said, the number must be adjusted considering that the number of policewomen covers 30% of the force.

In the future, he hopes that there would be a police women academy that stands alone, separated from the general police academy. In the special academy itself, there will be courses such as special teaching staff, and treatments in handling PPA and TPPO cases.
