inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Financial Transaction Reports and Analysis Center (PPATK) found that 571,410 population registration numbers (NIK), registered as recipients of social assistance, were involved in online gambling throughout 2024.
The total online gambling deposits from 571,410 NIK recipients of social assistance during 2024 reached IDR 957 billion with 7.5 million transactions.
“If we follow up this finding, there could be more,” says the Group Coordinator of PPATK Public Relations Natsir Kongah in his statement on Monday (7/7/2025).
Natsir explains that his party has tested the data by linking the 28.4 million registered social aid recipients with the data of 9.7 million of online gamblers. From the test, PPATK found 571,410 data are synchronized.
With the finding, PPATK is collaborating with the Social Ministry to ensure that the social aid is well distributed effectively and accordingly.
The results of the analysis of social aid recipient accounts from PPATK will be used as a guideline to ensure that they are right on target amidst the large number of social assistance recipient accounts that are suspected of being dormant or not making any transactions, except for receiving transfers.
