inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. President Prabowo Subianto was greeted with applause from the heads of state and delegates in attendance regarding Indonesia's support for Palestinian independence, which he conveyed in a speech at the Two-State Solution Summit at UN Headquarters.

President Prabowo, speaking before world leaders, including French President Emmanuel Macron, stated Indonesia's stance that it would recognize Israel as a state, once Israel recognizes Palestinian independence and statehood.

"We must guarantee Palestinian statehood, but Indonesia also states that once Israel recognizes Palestinian independence and statehood, Indonesia will immediately recognize the state of Israel and we will support all security guarantees for Israel," said President Prabowo, Tuesday (9/23/2025).

In his remarks, President Prabowo expressed deep concern over the ongoing humanitarian tragedy in Gaza.

He condemned all forms of violence against civilians, especially women and children, the threat of famine, and the humanitarian disaster unfolding before our eyes.

President Prabowo emphasized that the international community's historical responsibility concerns not only the future of Palestine, but also the future of Israel and the credibility of the UN itself.

"Therefore, Indonesia reaffirms its commitment to a two-state solution to the Palestinian issue. Only this two-state solution will bring peace," President Prabowo emphasized.

He also conveyed the importance of the New York Declaration, which is considered to have provided a peaceful and just path to peace.

According to President Prabowo, state recognition must bring true peace to all parties.

"We condemn all forms of violence against innocent civilians, therefore, Indonesia once again reaffirms its commitment to a two-state solution to the Palestinian issue. Only this two-state solution will bring peace," President Prabowo emphasized.

At the end of his remarks, President Prabowo reiterated that recognizing Palestinian independence is a form of unity. This speech emphasized Indonesia's position as a country committed to peace and humanity.

This stance is also consistent with Indonesia's journey of continuing to offer a two-state solution to end the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, making Palestinian independence a path to peace.
