Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. President Prabowo Subianto has proposed strategic measures to safeguard the domestic economy and enhance Indonesia’s position in ongoing trade negotiations with the United States, Cabinet Secretary Lieutenant Colonel Teddy Indra Wijaya said on Saturday (28/6/2025).
“One of the key responses to global economic challenges is the deregulation of the real sector by revising Trade Ministry Regulation No. 8/2024 into more flexible sectoral rules,” he said, commenting on a closed-door cabinet meeting held Friday at the Merdeka Palace, as reported by antaranews.com.
The session also addressed bilateral tariff talks with the U.S., with both nations reportedly committed to a "win-win solution" that emphasizes mutual economic interests, Cabinet Secretary Teddy said.
He noted the U.S. has shown “strong support” for Indonesia’s initiatives, citing backing from U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, and Trade Representative Jamieson Greer.
